Mariana is a Colombian student currently pursuing a master's degree in Rehabilitation Technologies at the University of Pittsburgh. As a Biomedical Engineer, she discovered her true passion and purpose during college: creating affordable technologies for individuals with disabilities. Mariana's vision combines the fields of engineering, medicine, and social innovation, as she dreams of making a positive impact by breaking barriers through design. She is particularly fascinated by 3D printing, universal design, and fostering innovation. Mariana enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, exploring new restaurants, or attending church. Being a part of the TOM community is a dream come true for her, as she had the opportunity to participate as a Maker in three TOM Makeathons in her hometown and fell in love with the enriching experience.
