Biomedical Engineering
Jeannette is PhD Biomedical Engineering student where she researches how using low intensity ultrasounds stimulates the regeneration of injured neurons, as well as how using high intensity ultrasounds (HIFU) stimulates the ablation of cancer cells or re- sensitization of resistant cancer cells to cancer drugs. Her research is trying to find new and improved ways of dealing with neuronal injuries which normally do not recover and lead to paralysis or loss of functions. In addition, by Combining HIFU with current cancer drugs on the market, we can increase their efficacy. She enjoys tackling problems related to individuals' health, hence her choice in pursuing a degree in biomedical engineering. In her spare time, she enjoys reading books and listening to music.
