Mia Rosenfeld

Mia (she/they) is a 4th year PhD student in Biochemistry & Biophysics. Her biggest passion is applying science to problem solving in order to make a more equitable and just world, specifically with historically underserved communities in mind. Mia has been lucky to be involved in many projects that engage the spirit of tikkun olam through science, including cancer drug development and SARS-CoV-2 biosensor design. Mia is excited to help foster a community at UC San Diego with other talented scientists and engineers, ranging from undergrads to grad students to local industry professionals. Together, she hopes to develop innovative solutions to often ignored or overlooked problems, with a specific emphasis on improving quality of life for those with orphan diseases.
